Trustees wanted

As we move into 2021 and leave, hopefully, Covid behind us, the Trust would like to appoint new Trustees to assist with the promotion of the Trusts activities with local clubs, and work with Maidstone Borough Council and Serco to get the Leisure Centre working at maximum capacity for the good of the local community.

Happy New Year

As a Leisure Trust, we would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year

2020 has been a difficult year for us all and we hope 2021 is better for everyone.

The Maidstone Leisure Trust has, since the initial lockdown in March, been in discussions with Maidstone Borough Council (MBC) and the Leisure Centre operators, Serco, to ensure the centres facilities have been made available to the public in accordance with government guidelines. Unfortunately, at present we in Maidstone are in Tier 4 so we cannot open the Leisure Centre for the time being.

We have also been holding discussions around securing support to mitigate the financial losses our facilities have been suffering. Throughout the year we, together with, Serco, have done everything we can to mitigate these losses, such as use of the furlough scheme for centre staff as well as various operational efficiencies all focused on cutting costs across our sites. Efficiency savings are ongoing and will continue until the Leisure Centre is able to open again.
