COVID-19 Impact Survey Report

The COVID-19 Impact Survey was conducted by the Maidstone Leisure Trust to identify how clubs and groups local to Maidstone have been impacted by COVID-19 and if there is anything that can be done to support them further
during this time. 18 responses were collected out of 59 clubs who were contacted meaning a 31% response rate.
Of the 69% that did not respond, it is possible that some may no longer be in existence or alternatively, that they are not currently operating due to restrictions.

The Maidstone Leisure Trust would like to thank those clubs who took part in this survey.

Trustees wanted

As we move into 2021 and leave, hopefully, Covid behind us, the Trust would like to appoint new Trustees to assist with the promotion of the Trusts activities with local clubs, and work with Maidstone Borough Council and Serco to get the Leisure Centre working at maximum capacity for the good of the local community.

Junior parkrun’s 3rd birthday

It is three years since the Trust provided funding to set up the Junior Park Run at Parkwood, Maidstone. The organisers have done a grand job promoting the weekly run and the numbers of youngsters regularly turning out each Sunday morning is on the increase.

There is a good pool of volunteers including our Trust Chairman Clive Bradburn, who give up their time to support the runners and their parents and the club has also recently been successful in obtaining further Trust Bursaries to fund a defibrillator and annual birthday medals for all the runners.

To celebrate the club’s 3rd birthday the local Kent Messenger paper gave over two whole pages of photos of the recent event. The Trust is pleased to have helped the club and it is pleasing that the club has received this community recognition.
